PROJECT INFORMATION

Representing a monumental €4 billion investment in the future of electric mobility, this ultra-advanced industrial facility spans a massive 300-hectare site. Serving as a critical manufacturing hub for a global automotive leader, the plant's primary stamping hall required an immense structural scale and highly complex mechanical systems to support continuous, heavy industrial operations. To meet aggressive launch targets, Draftech was appointed to provide specialist BIM management, bridging the gap between schematic engineering and flawless physical installation.


WHAT WE DID

Operating as the appointed specialist B2B consultancy, Draftech managed the complete digital lifecycle of the MEP systems, engineering the transition from RIBA Stage 3 conceptual design to RIBA Stage 6 as-built validation. We overhauled the underlying data structure, systematically replacing generic, low-fidelity placeholders (LOD 200/300) with precise, supplier-sanctioned equipment to achieve a production-ready LOD 400 fabrication standard.


Our team developed a rigorous conversion workflow, transforming standard Revit design elements directly into highly accurate fabrication parts. This optimization unlocked advanced modularization capabilities, allowing us to design pre-fabricated multi-service modules that drastically improved off-site manufacturing efficiency and accelerated on-site installation. Finally, we executed a strict verification pipeline, updating the coordinated models against Stage 6 redline documentation to deliver fully validated, clash-free as-built assets to the client.


OVERCOME CHALLENGES

The primary bottleneck was the project's hyper-compressed, 12-month delivery schedule to fully coordinate and construct the expansive stamping facility. This aggressive timeline was severely threatened by a critical lack of standardized, pre-existing LOD 400 component libraries necessary for advanced MEP fabrication.


To resolve this without impacting the site schedule, Draftech engineered a rapid content-authoring strategy. We established direct communication lines with global suppliers to extract detailed product metadata, building a robust, project-specific LOD 400 Revit library entirely from the ground up. To maintain velocity, we instituted a high-frequency coordination framework, driving weekly alignment sessions with the client to track progress, anticipate technical clashes, and resolve bottlenecks in real-time, ensuring the facility met its 12-month operational mandate.
